Becomes Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1867. Joins Germany in WWI but sees significant defeats and collapses after the war
Austrian Republic formed, Austrian Civil War (1934) sees rise of Conservatives. Austria is annexed by Nazi Germany during WWII. Split between US, Soviet Union, Britain and France after war

Second Republic re-established. Quite neutral since
